The Hands

I am Pauletta of “Handwovens by Pauletta”. I’m a mother of four wonderful children and a Nonna to six beautiful grandchildren. I had a long and exciting career as a Special Needs Teacher and have since retired to spend more time as “Nonna”.

In 1983, I was inspired to weave and then mentored by a local weaver from Wheaton Village in South Jersey. Since then I have continued to learn, experiment, and develop my own unique weaving personality.

I thoroughly enjoy trying new techniques and sharing with other fiber enthusiasts.

Behind The Art

In 2016, after moving from South Jersey to North East Florida, I’ve had the opportunity to meet new artisans and experience a new and different environment!

I work in a studio space in my home and am able to weave on most days. I enjoy participating and demonstrating weaving at craft market events and try to do so regularly during the year. I have devoted myself to designing and creating artistic and functional scarves, shawls, and household linens such as rag rugs, placemats, table runners, and hand towels. I have also been known to make special “baby blankets” when the occasion arises.

I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without the love and support of my husband. He is the brains, brawn, and motivator behind me. He helps with loom set up, packing the car for shows, and can even spin the most beautiful yarn for my wool scarves.
